Mega Millions FAQS
In order to enter Mega Millions, you must choose five main numbers from 1 to 70 and a Mega Ball from 1 to 25. Find out more on the How to Play page.
Mega Millions draws are held twice a week. They happen on Tuesday and Friday evenings at 11:00 PM ET.
In Florida, you can purchase your tickets until 10:00 PM ET. If you find yourself in one of the other participating states, the exact time can differ, but it is usually about an hour before the drawing time.
A Mega Millions ticket costs $2 per play and you can add the Megaplier feature for an additional $1 per play.
The Megaplier option allows you to multiply your non-jackpot winnings by 2X, 3X, 4X, or 5X. This feature can net you prizes from $4 to up to $5 million, and can be added to your ticket for $1 per play. If you want to find out more about this add-on, check out our How to Play page.
Yes, you are able to enter up to 26 consecutive drawings.
The Mega Millions jackpot starts at $20 million.
There is no rollover limit and no jackpot cap. The Mega Millions jackpot will keep rolling until someone matches all the winning numbers.
The largest Mega Millions jackpot was won here in Florida, on August 8, 2023. There was a single winning ticket, purchased at a Publix in Neptune Beach. The total amount was $1.602 billion and the winners, Saltines Holdings LLC, claimed the cash option of $794.2 million.
